been a Metro District Director since 1994. A retired attorney, she enjoys golf, reading
and travel. Regarding key contributions as a director, Nancy
comments, "My tenure on the Metro Districts board brings institutional memory,
i.e., explanations for why certain policies and procedures were developed.
I have tried hard to learn to listen respectfully to all board members, and will
continue this effort. Because of my legal background, I am able to read
contracts and other documents carefully and to analyze them thoroughly."
She and her husband, Chris, have been married 23 years. Chris is an
artist, primarily painting in water color, and also in oil. Our daughter,
Anne, lives with her husband in Scottsdale, Arizona, a perfect place to visit

for 12 years, during which time, she has been an active community volunteer.
She outlines her key contributions as a board member by saying, "Prior to
becoming a board member, I actively participated in many Metro Districts
meetings as a resident. My biggest concern at that time was improving
resident awareness of community issues along with improving transparency,
accountability, efficiency, and responsiveness of our local government. I plan
to continue to work toward these goals as a board member and to be an advocate
for the residents." Kathy enjoys reading, walking our local trails,
hiking, camping and traveling. She and her husband, Ken, have been married
19 years. They have two daughters -- Erin, 16, and Kristen, 12.
