Park Rangers

The goals of the Metro District's Park Ranger program are to:

  • Provide a broad range of safe, enjoyable outdoor recreation experiences for all visitors.
  • Protect and preserve park and natural resources.
  • Foster stewardship through education and information sharing.

Metro District Park Rangers are commissioned as code enforcement officers by the Douglas County Sheriff to enforce:

  • 18-9-117 -- Unlawful conduct on public property
  • R-998-100 -- Douglas County Resolution on the control and licensing of dogs and pet animals

Pictured to the right are Douglas County Under Sheriff Tony Spurlock and Metro District Park Rangers after receiving their commissions from Under Sheriff Spurlock.
