Skyhawks Sport Camps
Registration for Skyhawks programs is underway, and will be accepted until camp is full or seven days before the camp begins.
Skyhawks provides safe, positive athletic programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as sportsmanship, teamwork, winning and losing. Skyhawks continues to build on its foundation of providing healthy and active lifestyle choices while helping develop and build the skills and confidence of young athletes. The key component of Skyhawks programs is our superior coaching. Our staff is trained to focus on skill building and participant safety. Our experienced and well-trained staff makes Skyhawks what it is …the best athletic provider anywhere! Each camp includes quality instruction, a free sports related ball, a t-shirt and a merit award.
Skyhawks participants should bring two snacks, a water bottle, lunch (for camps longer than four hours), shoes (running shoes are fine) and sunscreen to each camp. Tiny Hawk – (Parent and Me) – Tiny Hawk programs are designed to introduce young athletes to basketball and soccer, and allow them to learn and have fun in a variety of arenas. A parent or adult must participate in the camp with the child. Shin guards are recommended.

Cheerleading – Skyhawks Cheer teaches young athletes all the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the team while preparing for competition. Each athlete will learn Skyhawks cheers, along with the proper hand and body movements and jumping techniques that make cheering the competitive sport it is today. All participants receive pom-poms.

Beginning Golf – Skyhawks Golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes through training in proper technique and foundational skills. To assist in this training, Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New at Golf) technology to its curriculum. SNAG utilizes a set of equipment designed for beginning golfers, including oversized plastic club heads and mini tennis balls to help build confidence. Holes are constructed with preset tee boxes or launching pads, and are finished off with Velcro targets for greens. This is a very fundamental golf camp.

Flag Football – Athletes will get an introduction to all the positions on offense and defense, preparing them to be true champions on the gridiron. The program will also introduce the core skills of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning – all presented in a fun and invigorating training environment. Participants must bring a mouthpiece. This is a great camp for kids interested in playing in our flag football league.

Baseball & Softball – Skyhawks builds young athletes' skills through drills and exercises developed with game speed in mind. Skyhawks baseball is specifically designed to teach and refine the fundamental skills of the game: Fielding, catching, throwing, hitting, and base running, while infusing each athlete with the exciting spirit of the game. Each athlete will learn basic skills in exercises tailored to individuals through tee hitting, soft toss, and live pitching. Participants must bring a glove. Safety bats and balls will be used.

Track & Field – Skyhawks Track & Field programs combine technical development, fundamental techniques, and fun to introduce young athletes to many Olympic-style events. The exercises and drills are designed to prepare athletes for a future in cross country, track and field events, distance running, and a lifelong love of being active. The programs will teach fundamentals of body positioning, stride, and proper stretching and cool-down techniques. These are learning camps, not training camps.

Lacrosse – Skills used in soccer, basketball, and hockey all come together in the unique game of lacrosse, one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. Lacrosse athletes will learn all the fundamental skills, including stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting, in a non-checking environment. Participants must bring their own protective gloves, elbow pads, mouthpiece, helmet with full mask, stick, and shoulder pads (recommended).

Performance Training Camps
The Metro District is offering training camps in cooperation with The Competitive Athlete Training Zone (CATZ). The goal is to improve each athlete’s speed, agility, strength, power, and quickness, while minimizing the risk of injury. CATZ training is not only effective, but it is also fun!
All CATZ coaches are degreed and certified. They know how to make fitness fun, exciting
and effective.
Sports Speed & Conditioning Camp - Basic Ages 9-11
This camp will focus on introducing and improving on fundamental strength and conditioning exercises that will make the athlete more agile, more coordinated, and improve their overall body control and core strength. The class will be fun, yet extremely effective. Camp will be held at Plum Valley Park. Class minimum: 10.

CATZ adult fitness is a fun, engaging, dynamic, and incredibly effective way to improve your overall level of fitness and conditioning. No workout is ever the same, so you won’t get bored. These classes are designed for all levels of fitness; your effort will determine the intensity of the training. CATZ programs will get you results and make you feel like an athlete again.
