Public Transportation
The Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) provides public transportation services in Highlands Ranch. The Metro District works cooperatively with RTD to oversee these services to meet the needs of the community.

call-n-Ride
The RTD call-n-Ride is a curb-to-curb service that takes you anywhere you want to go within a designated service area.

Service area boundaries for the Highlands Ranch call-n-Ride are C-470 on the north and Quebec Street on the east (north of Lincoln Avenue).  The south-western boundary runs along the North/South Trails and includes the area south of Wildcat Ridge Parkway.  The western boundary is Broadway (north of Highlands Ranch Parkway).

Service is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Drivers may combine individual trip requests to create shared rides.  Drivers will provide passengers with an estimated time of arrival.  Highlands Ranch call-n-Ride connects with Local buses for service to the Denver Tech Center and the C-470/University Blvd. park-n-Ride for Regional bus service to Denver International Airport and throughout the metro area.

RTD also offers TheRide Info, a touch screen kiosk that provides up-to-the-minute route and schedule information. Customers may access public transit and fare information on all RTD services throughout the six-city metro area district. The kiosk provides information on the BroncosRide, RockiesRide, BuffRide, SkyRide to DIA, Local Regional and Express service and park-n-Ride information. TheRide Info kiosk is located at the Metro District's office at 62 W. Plaza Drive, the Metro Districts Parks & Open Space Service Center, 3280 Redstone Park Circle and the Recreation Centers at Northridge and Westridge.

Bus Shelters
Bus shelters have been installed at the following Highlands Ranch locations:

  • S. University Boulevard and Highlands Ranch Parkway
  • S. University Boulevard and Fallbrooke
  • Highlands Ranch Parkway and Wildcat Reserve Parkway
  • Highlands Ranch Parkway and Ridgeline Boulevard

After careful review of several alternatives, the Metro District has selected a program in which shelters are built and maintained by an independent advertising organization at no cost to the community. This program has been successfully implemented throughout the country and has been approved by several communities along the Front Range. Shelters are ADA accessible, lighted for safety and consist of a bench, a trash receptacle and a back screen. Each shelter features three panels: Two for advertising and one for community use/public information. For more information, please contact Jeff Case at the Metro District at 303-791-0430, or jcase@highlandsranch.org.
