The Highlands Ranch Water Supply
Today, the foundation of our community's water supply is based on surface water and ground water, commonly referred to as a conjunctive use system. This means
that water sources include both surface water from the South Platte River and
groundwater from wells throughout Highlands Ranch. During the last four years,
which have been drier than normal, nearly 75 percent of our water supply has been
derived from the South Platte River. In the past, as much as 100 percent
of our water supply has come from South Platte River sources. The long-term
supply will use both sources.
Highlands Ranch Water Quality
Every year, Centennial Water publishes a Highlands Ranch Water Quality Report.
This report is designed to inform you about the quality water and services we
deliver to you every day. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and
dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we
make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water
resources.
