2011 Water
Conservation Measures
The following mandatory water conservation measures,
adopted in 2004, are also in place for Highlands Ranch water customers in 2011:
- No outdoor irrigation is allowed each day from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. There is no restriction on the days
you may water.
- Hand watering trees and shrubs is
allowed any time if a hose is held or a watering can is
used. Irrigation with a water conserving tool such as a drip, micro spray or
deep root watering device, is also allowed.
- Washing cars is also allowed any time. However,
a hose end shut off device must used.
- Wasteful water practices are prohibited.
This includes allowing
excess water to flow into street gutters, and neglecting to repair leaks.
Because Colorado weather can be unpredictable,
Centennial Water and Metro District's staff will continue to monitor the snow
pack and the availability of surface water supply. Water conservation measures
may be adjusted if necessary.

recently mailed to all homes in Douglas County. In less than half an hour, you
will learn how to transform your hard into a beautiful landscape that works with
our Colorado environment. The DVD was funded through a grant from the Colorado
Water Conservation Board with support from Centennial Water & Sanitation
District, Douglas County government, the Douglas County Water Resource Authority
and the South Metro Water Supply Authority. For more information, or to
