Volunteer Photo Gallery
We love our volunteers! In fact, we love to
share photos of them helping out in our community. Metro District
volunteers are featured here so friends and family can see their good works.
Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument Reception
On Tuesday, August 8, members of the community gathered at the Highlands Ranch
Library to pay tribute to Army Staff Sgt. and Special Forces Green Beret
Christopher
Falkel, a 2001 ThunderRidge High School graduate, who was the first Highlands
Ranch resident to be killed in action. He was killed on August 8, 2005 in
Afghanistan. Those who attended the event also heard the news of the
Highlands
Ranch Veterans Monument, which will be built in Civic Green Park near the
entrance to the library. The Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument Committee
members kicked off a fundraising program to build the monument, which will cost
$200,000. The committee members, led by Chairman Jeff Alvis, pictured
above, are a committed group of volunteers who are dedicated to making the
monument a reality for our community.
Highlands Ranch Household Hazardous Materials
Roundup
Many thank to more than 100 volunteers who helped during this event, held at
Shea Stadium. The majority of the volunteers were from the Mountain Vista
High School Link Crew. We appreciate your help to make the event
run smoothly!
