Parking is available in the RTD lot and around Civic Green Park.  Special needs passenger drop-off is available via the Highlands Ranch Library parking lot.

Eastridge Park Renamed Timberline Park

At its August meeting, the Highlands Ranch Metro District Board of Directors approved the name change of Eastridge Park to Timberline Park. No more wild goose chases to the Recreation Center at Eastridge when you’re really trying to find Eastridge Park.

Timberline Park, located at 7250 Timberline Rd., is the name selected by 58 percent of respondents who cast their vote online for a new park name. Timberline is the name of the road where is located.  The name also recognizes the view of the timberline on the mountains that can be viewed from the park. Other park name suggestions on the survey included Casey Park, Renner Park, Eastridge Park and an option to write in a suggestion.

A survey question also asked if park visitors would like a picnic shelter and restroom facility added to the park. Seventy-seven percent of respondents said they’d like to have both at Timberline Park. The Metro District has planned to make these upgrades within the upcoming year.

Free Family Holiday Fun at the Highlands Ranch Mansion

Join the Highlands Ranch Metro District on Saturday, December 5 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the annual community Holiday Celebration.   Free shuttle buses will pick people up at Cherry Hills Community Church and drop off at the Mansion.  Parking is not available at the Mansion, so please plan to take a shuttle.

Santa will arrive on a fire engine at 10 a.m. and will be available for pictures all day.  Hayrides will take people on a tour of the grounds at the historic ranch.  Reindeer games will take place on the lawn, and Mansion tours guided by the Highlands Ranch Historical Society will be available for a small fee ($2 per person, or $6 per family).   Holiday sounds will fill the air as elementary school choirs perform all day.  The Knights of Columbus will offer food and refreshments for sale.
