Holiday Celebration offers old-fashioned holiday fun

Enjoy a family-friendly event at the Metro District’s annual Holiday Celebration, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Highlands Ranch Mansion, 9950 E. Gateway Drive.

Guests will enjoy horse-drawn hay rides, Santa visits, face painting, caricature artist, local business vendors, gift and craft vendors, and fun games with prizes. Attendees can also take self-guided tours of the 27,000-square-foot Mansion and participate in a scavenger hunt.

All activities are free, and tickets are not required to get in. A coffee truck and a food truck will be on site with refreshments for purchase. Entertainment includes performances by local elementary school choirs and a holiday story time with Douglas County Libraries at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Choir performance schedule
• 10:30 a.m. Summit View Elementary
• 11:30 a.m. Sand Creek Elementary
• 12:30 p.m. Redstone Elementary
• 1:30 p.m. Roxborough Primary & Intermediate

All parking is off-site in the west parking lot (student parking lot) at Mountain Vista High School, 10585 Mountain Vista Ridge. Free shuttle buses will begin running at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until after the event is over. There is no public parking available at the Mansion except for vehicles with handicapped license plates or placards.
