Start of interactive fountain season at Civic Green Park

Post Date:05/01/2026 4:29 p.m.

Water flows in a park wading stream. The upper interactive fountains and wading stream near the playground at Civic Green Park were turned on Friday, May 1. The lower fountains near the amphitheater stage will be turned on later this month. These water features will run as normal during Stage 1 drought restrictions.

As part of Highlands Ranch Water's Drought Response Plan, these water play features are permitted during early stages of drought. They use domestic water that is constantly filtered, tested and recycled for continuous enjoyment. Although some water is naturally lost to evaporation and splashing, the recycled operation of these features reduces the need to keep refilling with new water. The interactive water features at Civic Green Park are an important recreational amenity to the community, and they are responsibly managed by the Metro District in a controlled public setting.

During Stage 1 restrictions, the primary goal is to reduce high-volume, one-time water use, especially outdoor irrigation. Like homeowners, the Metro District stays within an established water budget. During Stage 1 restrictions the Metro District is committed to reducing water use by 15-20% to support the shared goal of responsible water conservation.

Civic Green Park is located at 9370 Ridgeline Blvd.
