Memorial Day Service honors fallen heroes

The community is invited to attend the Highlands Ranch Memorial Day Service at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, May 25 at the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument. Memorial Day honors the more than one million men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

The event includes participants from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Highlands Ranch Concert Band, and Highlands Ranch American Legion Christopher M. Falkel Post 1260. The event will be emceed by Andy Jones, U.S. Navy veteran and Highlands Ranch Metro District Board Vice Chair, and will include remarks from Al Duff, U.S. Army veteran and Highlands Ranch resident, and Jonathan Barr, U.S. Marines veteran and resident of Highlands Ranch.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to read the dedication tiles and visit the memorial area at the Highlands Ranch Veterans Monument prior to the event. Seating is not provided. Guests should bring their own chair if standing for 30 minutes is an issue.
