The Highlands Ranch Metro District invites the community to the Toepfer Park 2.0 Celebration to commemorate the recent improvements at the park.

The event will be Monday, June 1, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Toepfer Park, 9320 Venneford Ranch Road. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to explore the new amenities, including a new playground, park shelter, nature trail and expanded parking lot. Let’s make wonderful memories together in Toeper Park - 2.0 version!

The event will feature giveaways, a scavenger hunt for kids and Kona Ice on site with treats for purchase. A ribbon cutting will be at 5:15 p.m. with short remarks from members of the Metro District board, staff and Douglas County Board of Commissioners. Our partners at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Highlands Ranch Water will also be on site with giveaways and information.

The event is also a perfect way to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Highlands Ranch and 30th anniversary of the park. Originally dedicated in 1996, the park was named after Jim Toepfer, one of the founders of Highlands Ranch. In 2022, an additional 10 acres of land adjacent to the park was conveyed to the Metro District from the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the Douglas County School District.

Construction on the park improvements began in May 2025. The new playground opened to the public in October 2025.
